#GrindMode VS #ZombieMode

How exciting would it be to never have to worry about “job security” ever again? Most of us, including myself wouldn’t even know what that looks like.. In this article I’ll share with you ways to change that, because they’ve recently worked for me in very powerful ways. If you’re not trying to get ahead this article is primarily not for you and I don’t want my opinions to offend you. However, I do believe you deserve a shot to get more out of life so I urge you to believe in yourself and not allow yourself to ever have excuses that accept failure.

Let’s be honest, how many people these days go above and beyond what’s asked of them? I failed high school because I chose the lazy route and it didn’t work for me. I had to find out the hard way that going through the motions was only going to barely keep my head above water. In my opinion, society has dumbed down and limited our influence to achieve our highest potential in life. In my experience, excuses don’t get anyone results of value or significance. I remember when I went to bootcamp for the Navy, how much those excuses did nothing but waste my time from accelerating myself forward to gain momentum.

Going to school, kindergarten through 12th grade, 7 AM to 3 PM… Wake up go to school, go to lunch, go back to class, go back home, play for a few hours (because we think we earned a break) and go to sleep. This is the schedule we know all so well, and anything different is uncomfortable. We’re programmed at a young age to fall into a schedule of wake up when the bell rings, take a little break when the bell rings, and by now I’m sure you get the point…

If you haven’t noticed, the world has changed. Unless we continue to change with it, we will get left behind. If that’s the route you choose, then you’re already accepting failure and allowing yourself to go backwards. Most of us have families, I have a growing family and I believe we all want the best for our kids. Saying that and doing that is two totally different actions though, do you agree? We’re all capable of so much more than what we think. There are so many opportunities available to us these days that most of us don’t use to their full potential.

Most of us depend on our job to get a check because that’s the only way we know how to make money. I’m not a fan of being dependent on anyone and you’re not either. Something that works really well for me is to make my company/business dependent on me. Some of you that are small business owners know what I mean when I say it’s like dancing with a polar bear and you’re not done dancing until the bear is. What I’m trying to say is that some of our businesses own us and our time. The reason we wanted to start our own business,  was in fact the opposite, so we could buy our time back.

The jump start your massive action plan your going to need some help. Start promoting your staff on social media. Promote your company consistently over time because word of mouth marketing is more effective than paid advertising (Only promote what you believe in otherwise its breaking moral barriers). The key is to be consistent over time, and not to just do it in small amounts. I encourage you to read “The 10x Rule – By Grant Cardone,” that will be a good start.

When I discovered this information I decided  I wanted a network marketing business. Today I’m so much better off then where I was because I wasn’t challenging myself enough. More importantly I saw network marketing was a rising trend because today it’s the most successful industry in business. I’m not saying you should go out and start your own network marketing business because I don’t know you or your situation. Mark Cuban is the owner of the Dallas Mavericks as well as a billionaire business man. He jumped on the internet streaming boom before it was popular and it made him a billionaire. The only difference between him and us is that he didn’t give up on his ideas and visions.

Let’s face it, traditional business as we know has changed, email and the internet are the trends. If you’re the encouraging person in the office, making everyone else better because of your presence there’s a chance that upper management will want you to start filling management positions. If promotions are for you, hard work is the solution. If you want to gamble and not go above whats asked of you, I promise that eventually you will be replace by someone who does.

Being bold is my next point. You can walk down any major street that’s populated with large numbers of people. We easily walk past people who could be going through stress and strain or nothing but gain.  Allow me to make this point real quick, I believe the most powerful resource  we have on this planet is relationships. Imagine for a second walking down a busy street where you work, how many people do you walk past that could potentially have access to exactly what you’re trying to achieve? You can only answer that once you’ve talked to them all.

I start more random conversations with people, then I do anything else, haha believe me my wife hates it.  It works for me and I encourage you to do the same. Expect most people to feel inconvenienced by your boldness, its only natural. A quick solution is to feed their ego and be genuinely interested in them. Be honest with yourself, How many people’s stories could alter your fate if we simply allowed ourselves to open up and add value to them? I recently met a guy that ended up sending my construction business a medium to large size job. Just because I started a conversation and discovered he had needs that weren’t being met. Just like with any other relationship his referrals in his network are where the value truly is, especially if my company keeps him happy. What I’m saying is that every person that crosses your path, no matter if you think so or not can teach you something. Sometimes I wear basketball shorts and a tee-shirt but just because I’m not in a suite shouldn’t disqualify me from getting into a conversation with the next top executive when I’m out in my basketball shorts.

In conclusion, no matter what you do or what  industry you’re in, you’re always going to be in a people business. When that business is better because of you, you brand yourself and change the demographic. You begin to put the odds in your favor. I hope you do everything in your power to elevate your game and start living ways you only dreamed about. Keep in mind to never compare yourself to anything or anybody but yourself and your results from yesterday.  Everybody elses results in life are because of their situation so don’t get to emotionally attached. Good luck and please leave your comments below.
